Please review the NPS Qualifying Equipment List for the quantities and models of Nikon equipment required for NPS Membership.
The Qualifying Equipment list is determined in Nikon’s discretion. Qualifying equipment may change over time based on the product service period, which is the duration that product is supported by parts and service. Service period length for each product will vary. Although products do have a service period life, Nikon will continue to offer repair as possible to the extent parts are available.
NPS Membership renewal takes place on an annual, calendar-year basis. You will receive an email communication on or around December of each calendar year about the renewal. Beginning in 2026, renewal will be automatic unless you opt-out of automatic renewal in your NPS Account.
For all NPS Members having a current NPS Membership in effect as of December 31, 2025, your NPS Membership will automatically renew for calendar year 2026 and each subsequent calendar year thereafter that you remain an NPS Member, unless and until you affirmatively opt-out of such automatic renewal through your NPS Account dashboard. For PRO+ and PLATINUM+ Members, this means that when you purchase a paid NPS Membership, you will be required to provide your payment method to Nikon in the form of your credit card, which credit card will remain on file with Nikon, and will be charged for the annual Membership Fee on or around January 1st of each calendar year beginning in 2026, unless you affirmatively opt-out of such automatic renewal through your NPS Account dashboard. Any promotional discounts in effect on the date that your automatic renewal is successfully processed using Member’s valid credit card on file will be applied to the amount of the renewal Membership Fee. Please carefully review the most current NPS Membership Terms and Conditions for additional information concerning the automatic renewal of your NPS Membership.
As an existing NPS Member, when you retire we have a path for you to continue your NPS Membership by selecting Occupation description: Retired photographer. Contact NPS for additional details.
In order to maintain a Government, Law Enforcement or Military occupation description with NPS, you must be able to validate your credentials. If you separate from service and are still engaged in an imaging business you may apply to continue your NPS Membership by selecting your current occupation description. Fees, equipment registration and other qualifying requirements will apply. Update your occupation description in the NPS Member area portal and add the necessary required information.
Serial numbers of some products, including but not limited to older items may not be in our database. Also, serial numbers indicating gray market products are not eligible for NPS Membership or benefits. NPS will review to validate your equipment registration. Equipment showing invalid serial numbers will not become part of your NPS Membership requirement until they are validated.
Please be sure to double check that you are selecting the correct model and entering the correct serial number.
Contact NPS with the Nikon equipment description along with its respective serial number so the NPS team can review this for you and provide next steps.
We appreciate that you may have equipment that you are using for your professional career that is not listed on the Qualifying Equipment list. You may add additional products for service and support using the MY CAMERA BAG feature in your separate account on www.nikonusa.com. Please understand however that these additional products may not count towards NPS Membership eligibility.
Yes. NPS Membership eligibility is determined in part by the registration of a Qualifying Equipment minimum. It is highly recommended you register as much Qualifying Equipment as possible to prevent any delay in receiving certain benefits. Some repair benefits and services like the Free Maintenance & Cleaning Services and access to repair loans require you to have the products added to your NPS Equipment Registry. Also, Qualifying Equipment may change over time during the product’s service period.
Members who renew may update the MY EQUIPMENT section of your account dashboard at any time during the NPS Membership. Once you have been approved as a new NPS Member you may continue to update your equipment. Select Manage My Products on the main Dashboard or Gear on the NPS Navigation bar.
At this time, you do not need to register products in My Camera Bag to maintain your NPS Membership. My Camera Bag is a Service and Support portal. NPS Equipment Registry is separate from your Nikon Service and Support portal. It is recommended that you register your products in both locations.
No. Currently these two areas are separate. My Camera Bag is a Service and Support portal available to both NPS Members and others. The NPS product registration area is for NPS Membership qualification and NPS Membership account use only.
Please see the Qualifying Equipment requirements for NPS Membership eligibility set forth in the NPS Terms and Conditions.
First complete the NPS Priority Purchase Delivery Request form located under Your Benefits and receive your email confirmation of the submission. Once inventory is available for your order, you will receive an email from NPS notifying you that your product has shipped to the participating Nikon Authorized Dealer with which you placed your order. For Nikon Store orders, you will receive tracking information directly for your purchase by email.
In addition to communicating with you about your NPS Membership and keeping you informed of any new announcements, your email address will be your User Name for www.nikonusa.com/nps.
A billing/business address is required in the event that your current Membership Level or future updated Membership Level permits you to request Equipment Loans. Your billing address must match any billing information you provide in the credit card validation areas, if applicable. A physical postal shipping address is required in the event Nikon needs to ship a parcel to you, since we cannot ship certain types of packages to a post office box.
Certain NPS Membership Levels may be eligible for Equipment Loans. Shipment of NPS consignments via UPS or FedEx is the responsibility of the NPS Member. There is no rental fee charged for the use of this equipment. By supplying your UPS or FedEx account number, you acknowledge and authorize that it will be charged for all NPS consignment shipments.
Certain NPS Membership Levels may be eligible for Equipment Loans. Your valid credit card is used to ensure the Member satisfies its obligations with respect to the return of the loaned equipment in the same condition it was supplied. Member understands and agrees that upon Nikon’s approval of an Equipment Loan, Nikon will pre-authorize a charge to Member’s credit card for $1.01 or other nominal amount. Your credit card will not be charged unless you fail to return an Equipment Loan, without damage and with supplied accessories, on time. For more information, please review the Equipment Loans section of the NPS Terms & Conditions.
To become an NPS Member you must be at least 21 years of age and provide a copy of his or her identification to Nikon promptly upon request.
Yes, you may upgrade your NPS Membership Level upon payment of the appropriate fees. Please sign in to your NPS account at www.nikonusa.com/nps and select the Upgrade option under the Benefits section of your Dashboard.
Pro+ and Platinum+ NPS Members may be eligible for a certain number of complimentary Maintenance & Cleaning Services (formerly referred to as "clean and check" services), subject to availability. To be considered, the camera or lens must be registered as Qualifying Equipment in your NPS Equipment Registry. Request your Maintenance & Cleaning Services certificate in Your Benefits. The request will be reviewed by the NPS team and you will be provided additional redemption instructions. Please note that the equipment may be subject to additional eligibility review once received at a Nikon Service Center. Member should not send equipment to Nikon’s Factory Service Centers for Maintenance & Cleaning Services unless and until Nikon has validated that Member’s equipment is eligible. The cost of shipping Member’s equipment to Nikon’s service department is the responsibility of the Member.
Maintenance & Cleaning Services includes the services listed at the "Standard Maintenance Package" (for PRO+ Members and Platinum+ Members) or the "Premium Maintenance Package" (for Platinum+ Members), each as described here. Please request your Maintenance & Cleaning Services directly from "Your Benefits" in your NPS Account. Requesting these services through the above link on the Nikon USA website may create unnecessary delays.
If repairs needed to bring your product back to factory specifications are detected during Maintenance & Cleaning Services, a Service Estimate will be emailed to you for your approval. If you approve the Service Estimate, a method of payment would be requested and your Pro+ and Platinum+ repair discounts would apply. If you do not approve the Service Estimate, your product will not be repaired and Nikon will ship it back to you after performing only the Maintenance & Cleaning Services.
Platinum+ NPS Members are eligible for a one-time annual 10% purchase discount on new products (not used or refurbished) via Nikon Store or a participating Nikon Authorized dealer up to $350. For instructions, submit a request for your redemption under Your Benefits.
Each calendar year that a Member has purchased and fully paid for a PLATINUM+ NPS Membership, such Member will be entitled to access, at no charge, one (1) "Nikon Mentors" online educational course from Nikon’s then-current library of courses listed on the Nikon School Website at https://online.nikonschool.com/mentors/ (the "Mentors Course"). A Member may choose the Mentors Course through Member’s NPS Account Dashboard, and Nikon will email such Member a one-time use online redemption code for such Mentors Course. The Mentors Course is not transferrable, not redeemable for cash or anything else of value. The redemption code must be redeemed prior to the end of the applicable calendar year of the Member’s NPS Membership, but will be accessible to the Member for viewing thereafter through the availability date listed on the Nikon School Website. Nikon reserves the right to add, remove, update or otherwise change the Mentors Courses at any time.
Existing Members who do not meet the Qualifying Equipment requirement at the time of their NPS Membership renewal may continue their NPS Membership as "Provisional" Members at the PRO NPS Membership Level. Follow the prompts on your NPS Account Dashboard to renew. Contact NPS for any questions.
